El Paso Drug Seizure: CBP Confiscates 263 Kilos of Narcotics at Border Crossings

EL PASO, Texas – Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials at the El Paso field office have successfully seized a total of 263.1 kilos of narcotics within the week of October 26 to November 1.

The illegal substances were primarily hidden in compartments and spaces of seven passenger vehicles entering at the Santa Teresa, Paso del Norte, Puente de las Américas, and Ysleta ports of entry. The confiscated narcotics included 81.44 kilos of cocaine, 10.68 kilos of fentanyl, 129.32 kilos of methamphetamine, and 41.7 kilos of marijuana.

Utilizing a combination of canine detection, Z-Portal technology, and physical inspections at seven locations, CBP agents uncovered the drugs concealed within these privately owned vehicles.

“The vigilance of our CBP agents has led to multiple narcotic seizures last week. I am pleased that our team has thwarted these drug smuggling attempts and that these dangerous controlled substances will not enter the United States,” stated Hector Mancha, the Field Operations Director. “Some of these seizures included significant individual shipments of narcotics, ranging from 32 to 55 kilos.”

During the fiscal year 2025, the CBP field office in El Paso has confiscated 5,927 pounds of illegal narcotics.
