EL PASO, Texas — A man has been arrested following a fatal stabbing incident that occurred outside a convenience store in East El Paso, according to local authorities.
The police responded around 9:40 a.m. on November 11 to the 5600 block of Alameda Avenue, directly in front of DK Convenience, after receiving reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Juan Francisco Gómez, 44, suffering from stab wounds. He was declared dead shortly thereafter.
According to the investigation conducted by the Crimes Against Persons Unit, Gómez was stabbed as he exited the store. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Manuel Iván Gutiérrez, fled the scene but was later apprehended by the El Paso Police Department.
Gutiérrez now faces murder charges, with bail to be set by a district judge. The investigation remains ongoing.
